The design of the Hilton Trolley for Memphis in 1983 helped Mariscal move from provincial Barcelona to the sophisticated Milan scene.

Ettore Sottsass, the founder of the Memphis Group and "alternative international style" as he himself defined it, saw Mariscal's Muebles Amorales exhibition and asked him to carry out a design for Memphis. He designed the Hilton Trolley with the help of Pepe Cortés, who provided his technical mentality. This unique piece was presented at the Milan Furniture Trade Fair. It was designed for transporting drinks, and its backward leaning attitude suggests movement, whilst the three pairs of wheels and the robust legs suggest strength.
It was a great advance for Mariscal, who saw how he managed to pass from provincial Barcelona at that time to the sophisticated Milan scene.
