With this book, Mariscal made a selection process in which he played with mixing images until achieving a very mature artistic piece of work

Sketches is a very personal, intimate book edited by Nova Era. It is a compilation of drawings from different periods, from the 1970s to the present. It brings together sketches, drawings of ideas, ruled paper, etc. None of its content was chosen by chance. It contains what Mariscal wanted there to be, in a selection process in which he played with mixing images until achieving a very mature artistic piece of work.
In addition to rescuing these drawings from old files, Mariscal dared to explain his way of drawing in words and made us a gift of snippets of his "drawn" life which provide keys for understanding why drawing has helped him, and those of us who are fortunate enough to be receivers of his talent, to live. Drawing makes him happy. As he himself tells us in the book, "those of us who draw a lot, always do it for pleasure". It also makes him a better person: "the drawer becomes richer, richer in shared experiences, he learns to communicate better, he is a better person".
