We recovered the historic function of plastic to imitate reality to design a seat with a stone shape.
Technology combined with the irony of comics is the origin of Piedras (Stones). The moulding technique is perfect for achieving a volumetric form shaped like a stone and a texture which imitates that of stone. Plastic thus adopts its historic function of imitating reality. In the Piedras concept, the trompe l’oeil that is achieved with the material combines with the irony of what is formal.
The aim was to play with the function of these seats: they are false but they are true, they are like stone but there really plastic and they are like a piece of furniture but they are an invitation to play and to awaken the imagination of young children.
